Teaming Like a Pro: Tammy Browne

 
  
"When we all work together, we can make a huge impact.” This is how Tammy Browne of Gulfstream Fabrication, LLC describes her recent teaming experience. Her company was awarded a government contract in June of 2009 with the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA. Gulfstream Fabrication, LLC are manufacturers of reinforced plastics and high-tech use composites and have been in business for over 30 years. They teamed with a concrete shelter company to provide and install seven underground concrete shelters in the Mississippi region. With a teaming agreement in place, they were able to complete the contract before the deadline and even received a testimonial document from DHS/FEMA. Together, the companies worked as a winning team, leveraging their complementary skills to win the contract and provide a great service for the people of Mississippi.

Tammy’s Teaming Tips
  • Be persistent. Be passionate about your project so others will “feel” it from you.
  • Be thorough. Know your project inside out so the potential teaming company will feel safe.
  • Be on time. Make sure that you deliver a quality product, meeting all milestones for timely project completion.
